The University of Iowa originally turned down the HBO TV show "Girls" when they asked to film the next season in the university campus. Then the city of Iowa City let's girls us Iowa City for filming, but not the campus. Now, Iowa City has completely turned down Girls or Girls decided to film elsewhere. As a result Girls is filming in a part of Brooklyn that looks vaguely like Iowa City.
