Dirty Dancing

This post is about the movie Dirty Dancing that I also watched on the way back from Venice. Even though this movie is a little inappropriate I think 12+ can watch it. I adored this movie! It was so romantic and the soundtrack was awesome! I recommend this movie to girls because of the romance and all the dancing.

The Boy Who Dared

Hi! This post is about a book I recently read called the Boy Who Dared. It is about Helmuth Hubener's life as a teenage boy during World War Two. Helmuth wasn't in the war but he might as well have been. He did a very very brave thing to try to tell people what is actually going on in the world. This book is a true heart wrenching story that I loved. I hope you read this sad but amazing story that makes you realize how absolutely horrible the Nazis were.

Daughter of Venice

Hi this post is a review of a book I read before going to Venice called "Daughter of Venice." I know, it's a very cheesy title and the cover is a little funny but once you start reading it you'll love it! [If you are a feminist…] But you'll probably only like it if you are a girl. The book is about Donata, a girl in Venice. She has eleven siblings and is very rich. All her life she has lived in her palazzo obeying the families rules but when she finds out her older sister will be the one to marry everything changes. Her families rules do not allow Donata to walk out of her house unless her family is going to church or taking a Gondola to a party. She is also not allowed to have tutoring lessons [learn anything] she can only learn to play the violin or sing and sew. Only now does Donata realize how unfair her life is. And she decides to change that. Read to find out more!

The Devil Wears Prada

Hi! This is a review of a movie I watched on the flight back from Venice. It is a good movie though in my opinion it is a LOT like Ugly Betty [a TV show I watched some time ago] but if you haven't seen Ugly Betty you should definitely watch this movie! I like The Devil wears Prada even though it is so similar to Ugly Betty.

Sunday Style… In Florence!

Hi! Today we went to Florence and saw the Uffizzi. In the Uffizzi I saw lots of awesome shoes and outfits worn by women. The women wear lots of fur. Minx, Fox, Hare, they wear everything! Earlier I was walking back to our hotel and I looked in the window of some fancy shop. The mannequin  wore a white lace dress with a long red fur coat. Guess how much the coat was? 18,000 EUROS!!!! For a fur coat! Crazy. Women of all ages wear black. "Black is the new Black!" I saw like twenty people in the museum wearing black ankle boots. I thought they were adorable! With their rounded tops and black leather they are adorable! Go ankle boots!

Padova

Scrovegni Chapel
St. Anthony's Basilica
Hi! Today my family and I took the train to Padua or as the Italians say Padova. We went sight seeing and saw the amazing St. Anthony's Basilica and Giotto's Fresco's in the Scrovegni Chapel. First I'll tell you about the Scrovegni Chapel. It was beautiful. It looked like there were hundreds of frescos in there. The color was also great. Very vibrant blues, golds, oranges, and reds. All the pictures had interesting stories also. There were lots of pictures of Judas and Mary. If you are in or around Padova come to see this amazing piece or artwork.
St. Anthony's Basilica was astounding! It was also huge. This building also had frescos but the really great things are the relics. There is one room in the back of the church with beautiful marble statues scattered around the area and relics everywhere. The relics stretched from the 13th Century to the present day. From entire silver and gold goblets to body parts, the relics were simply awesome. In this Basilica there is one of St. Anthony's cloaks and garments and his tongue, jaw, and his voice box! That is an awesome experience also.

Dalla Marisa

Hi! This post is a review of a restaurant I just ate at in Venice. It is called Dalla Marisa and it is the best place to eat at EVER!!! My family's meal was amazing! The first course we had [there were three courses at this place! but you don't get a menu, you make a reservation and whatever they are serving you have] was handmade pasta with duck ragu and lasagna with porcini mushrooms, pumpkin, and parmagianno reggiano. I know what you're thinking. Duck Ragu? YUCK!!! But wait a second, I was just like that and I had never had duck before I had that wonderful dinner, but man was that delicious. I don't know how to describe the taste of the duck but you just have to trust me when I say it was amazing! I didn't love the lasagna but my parents did and gobbled the whole thing up! The next course was the meat course. Get ready because it is huge!!!! First we had more duck but just the straight up breast this time. Next salami and radicchio wrapped in pork. [that was a mouthful, literally!] And the third meat was venison; or as our waiter called it, "Bambi!" [I did not have the "Bambi," trying duck was enough for me that night!] The duck breast was absolutely amazing! I could've eaten the whole plate! The salami and radicchio wrapped in pork was okay but the pork was a little tough in my opinion. I have no idea about the venison but my mom and dad liked it. And finally the third course; dessert. They served us a delicious Mascarpone Cream with almondy crakers and cookies. I loved the dessert; who wouldn't? I give this place five stars. It was so fun! It's in the middle of nowwhere in Venice; it's a hole in the wall location, and there are no tourists! I hope if you ever go to Venice or even Italy you go to Dalla Marisa and love it.

Mockingjay

HI! Today's post is about the latest Hunger Games movie: Mockingjay: Part 1. If you have read the book you will probably agree that the book is really BORING!!! [That's what I think...] The movie is better than the book but the majority of it is just blah. Instead of Mockingjay: Part 1 I would title this movie Mockingjay: The Prequel. The ending of the movie [the last twenty minutes or so] was pretty exciting. And there were some thrilling moments but when I think about what actually happened in Mockingjay I barley remember anything. [except for those exciting moments] Instead of going to the theater to watch this film I would recommend watching it when it goes on DVD or Netflix or Hulu Plus; whatever you use, wait.

Baby Tufted Deer
Tufted Deer

The tufted deer is a species of deer [obviously!]  They mainly live in and around Burma and China. They have a brown or black tuft in front and in between their ears. These species is nearly endangered so don't go out killing tufted deer okay? Tufted Deer usually live around 10-12 years unless when they're in the captivity. Then they live 7 years. This animal lives in forests.

InterStellar

Hey! I just saw Interstellar an I liked it. Mostly it was good; there were definitely some great moments but overall there was just too much stuff going on! I mean the movie was three hours long. But there were some really touching moments. This is just my opinion though so not by any means am I trying to get you not to see this movie. You might love it, who knows?
I mean like i said in the beginning I did like it there were just some parts that were a little to cheesy. InterStellar is about a man who used to be an astronaut but when they shut down NASA he became a farmer. The movie is about him and his family.

The Lions of Little Rock

Hi! I just finished this book and it was amazing! It is about a white girl in the 1950s who becomes friends with an African american girl. Marlee [the white girl] is very shy and she talks so little that some people think she is mute! This story is about the troubles Marlee faces with integration and racists. I loved this book so much! I think everyone would love to read it. Though girls may enjoy this book more than boys. Please read this book and comment on what you thought of it below!

What You Should and Shouldn't Wear
Hey! This page is about what is in out at the time. [My personal opinion of course] I will update this page frequently to keep is current. Here you go:
What Not to Wear:
Leggings as pants are a NO NO! Leggings aren’t pants people! Why do you wear them without skirts, shorts, dresses, or even long shirts! You’re butt shows! Common people!
olivia-wilde-wears-leggings-as-pants
NO, NO, NO!
leggings-arent-pants
What you should wear:
Brown and Black ankle boots or any kind of boots are REALLY in right now! They go with everything and there cheap too. You can buy them at Target for 30 bucks!
Shirt dresses are also “in.” Though I would recommend wearing a belt with you’re shirt dress so it  doesn’t look like you’re in your boyfriends over sized shirt!

Sunday Style

Hi! I have decided that on Sundays I will write a post about a new style or trend that is "in" right now. Here is the first Sunday Styles:

High-Low Skirts
Hello. I am going to tell you about High-Low Skirts. The high-low skirt is a very popular trend. The idea of a high low skirt or dress is that you have a pice of clothing, short in the front and long in  the back. The high low effect gives you a skirt that flows beautifully. Jus in between a hippy skirt and a short skirt.
High low skirt are comfortable too. I love this styles I have one myself! I wear it all the time and it was 5 DOLLARS IN THE SALE SECTION AT FOREVER 21! I hope you like this style and that you find a high low skirt or dress that you like.

The Bald Uakari have a strikingly red face and like they're name implies, they are bald. This animal mainly eats tiny animals, flowers, and seeds. Decorating School Supplies Part 1

Pencil Cases
I will start with pencil cases. If you have the kind of case that is fabric and when you drop it, it doesn't crack open and explode open flinging your supplies everywhere than this is what you should do: Take your black sharpie and draw some sort of design along the edges  of your case. If you need some ideas you could draw a green squiggly line around the side and then add ovals here and there with pointed edges.
Now look! You have a vine wandering around you supplies box!!!
If you are girly like me you can add flowers to your vine. You could also draw a really long dragon or snake slithering along the edges.
If you have a harder supplies box that is made of plastic or a hard material this is how you can decorate it: Sharpies rub off these types of cases so you have to be even more creative. I would recommend using duct tape or colored/patterned tape or stickers to decorate your box.
I like using colored/patterned tape or duct tape the best but if you absolutely ADORE stickers that's what you should do. Okay now onto the backpacks:

Backpacks
Decorating my backpack is one of my favorite things  to do.
You can attach fun key chains, pins, buttons, and even iron on your name! In my opinion you can never have to many key chains or buttons.
Buttons are a fun thing to collect for your backpack! They are usually sold at about one dollar to three dollars so they're fun, cheap, and cute! Awesome right?!

Boyhood

Hello!!! Today's post is about the new movie Boyhood. Boyhood is movie that was filmed over the course of twelve years! This film is about family and growing up. When I saw this movie I had high hopes. But it was not as good as I imagined it. :( My favorite scene was the most action packed scene in the movie. It had mystery and you might even cry during this scene. [I won't tell you what it is about because that might ruin the movie for you] If you are interested in Boyhood you should see it. In my opinion it wasn't that good but you might think it is and a lot of people like it so I say give it a go!

Best Houseplants

Hello! This post and the ones that follow it are about the best houseplants! My #1 favorite house plant is probably the Aloe Vera plant. Aloe plants have a huge range of sizes. Mine, however is quite small. You're probably wondering why aloe plants are so amazing, I will tell you. If you don't know already; aloe vera is green slimy substance that heals/relieves pain from sun burns or any kind of burn. You can really you aloe for any visual things that hurts, stings, or itches on your skin. [I don't think it can hurt you at all either. Unless you eat it, then maybe...] This plant is very easy to care for because you only only have to water it maybe two or three times a week and it does the rest!!!I would recommend putting your aloe plant in the sunlight. It helps your plant produce more aloe therefor having thicker leaves. To find out how to get aloe from your aloe plant click the link: http://www.wikihow.com/Extract-Aloe-Vera
