Hi this post is a review of a book I read before going to Venice called "Daughter of Venice." I know, it's a very cheesy title and the cover is a little funny but once you start reading it you'll love it! [If you are a feminist…] But you'll probably only like it if you are a girl. The book is about Donata, a girl in Venice. She has eleven siblings and is very rich. All her life she has lived in her palazzo obeying the families rules but when she finds out her older sister will be the one to marry everything changes. Her families rules do not allow Donata to walk out of her house unless her family is going to church or taking a Gondola to a party. She is also not allowed to have tutoring lessons [learn anything] she can only learn to play the violin or sing and sew. Only now does Donata realize how unfair her life is. And she decides to change that. Read to find out more!

I'm sorry I forgot to post this yesterday but please forgive me. Yesterday was a Christian holiday Christmas which I celebrate. Merry Christmas! Of course I spent this christmas in Venice. My family went to Midnight mass at the Frari. The whole time we were looking directly at this beautiful painting of the assumption by Titian. It is beautiful! Merry late Christmas!!!!!!!!!! I hope you LOVE your presents!
Hi! Today we went to Florence and saw the Uffizzi. In the Uffizzi I saw lots of awesome shoes and outfits worn by women. The women wear lots of fur. Minx, Fox, Hare, they wear everything! Earlier I was walking back to our hotel and I looked in the window of some fancy shop. The mannequin wore a white lace dress with a long red fur coat. Guess how much the coat was? 18,000 EUROS!!!! For a fur coat! Crazy. Women of all ages wear black. "Black is the new Black!" I saw like twenty people in the museum wearing black ankle boots. I thought they were adorable! With their rounded tops and black leather they are adorable! Go ankle boots!![]() |

Hi! This post is a review of a restaurant I just ate at in Venice. It is called Dalla Marisa and it is the best place to eat at EVER!!! My family's meal was amazing! The first course we had [there were three courses at this place! but you don't get a menu, you make a reservation and whatever they are serving you have] was handmade pasta with duck ragu and lasagna with porcini mushrooms, pumpkin, and parmagianno reggiano. I know what you're thinking. Duck Ragu? YUCK!!! But wait a second, I was just like that and I had never had duck before I had that wonderful dinner, but man was that delicious. I don't know how to describe the taste of the duck but you just have to trust me when I say it was amazing! I didn't love the lasagna but my parents did and gobbled the whole thing up! The next course was the meat course. Get ready because it is huge!!!! First we had more duck but just the straight up breast this time. Next salami and radicchio wrapped in pork. [that was a mouthful, literally!] And the third meat was venison; or as our waiter called it, "Bambi!" [I did not have the "Bambi," trying duck was enough for me that night!] The duck breast was absolutely amazing! I could've eaten the whole plate! The salami and radicchio wrapped in pork was okay but the pork was a little tough in my opinion. I have no idea about the venison but my mom and dad liked it. And finally the third course; dessert. They served us a delicious Mascarpone Cream with almondy crakers and cookies. I loved the dessert; who wouldn't? I give this place five stars. It was so fun! It's in the middle of nowwhere in Venice; it's a hole in the wall location, and there are no tourists! I hope if you ever go to Venice or even Italy you go to Dalla Marisa and love it.
