Lost Identity
I open my eyes wide with fear of what I might see, but
there is nothing to see, I’m just in a normal forest. I step back behind a huge
oak in case there is something to be hiding from. Crunch! A twig snaps underneath my foot and shoots up into my
sneaker. I lean against the giant oak and surprisingly I fall back into a pile
of what seems like crushed lollipops. I look around and find that I am in no
typical forest. Now as I look around, the forest is not normal, in fact it
looks like candy.
I rest my hand gently against the ground to see what the
dirt’s texture is; it’s squishy, kind of slimy like jelly. I dig my hand into
the squishy mush and bring up black slime.
I decide to test out something else, another tree! I walk
over to what looks like an ordinary cedar tree but who knows, it might be a
tootsie pop. Slowly and cautiously I place my hand on a small area of bark, I
take my hand off; a brown smudge has appeared on my pale hand. I yet again
place my hand on the same tree, again brownish smudge appears on my hand. This
time I try to lick the tree, chocolate! The tree is lined with a blanket of
creamy milk chocolate!
I decide to find out what’s inside so I dig my hand under
the thin layer of milk chocolate pull my hand out and stare in disbelief at a
jumble of spiders. I quickly brush the eight-legged creatures off of my hand
and onto the ground as they scurry away and disappear into other various
different trees. Now I am confused, should I be scared of this forest or not?
Oh, by the way my name is Theodora, Theo for short. And in case you are
wondering I am just as clueless as you. I do not know where I am or why I am
here, I just woke up and found myself in this forest.
