Lost Identity part 3

 Lost Identity Part 3
 *                        *                     *              *
I wake up to a gray sky at what seems like around five a.m. As I look around at my camp out, I see that nothing has changed.   Actually nothing could have changed. I have no belongings besides the clothes I am wearing. I get up and pace back and forth. I am still very confused about everything that has happened. The most confusing thing to me is how I got here. It seems as if I woke up in this place, this candy world.
I remember the spiders now, and the slimy black ground. But I also remember the candy. Candy was either covering everything or everything. I decide to see if there is candy here too.
I look around to find something I could test out. But I only see the ground, some trees, and a rock. Since I have already tested everything else I walk over to the rock. First I decide to examine the rock. The rock, [which I have now named Sue] is gray, like most rocks are. But there is something weird about Sue, something different, something uncanny. As I look at Sue closer, without even touching her I can see a peppermint. Now, I’m not saying that Sue in entirely a peppermint but there is a peppermint either drawn or inside of her.
So, I decide to investigate…I slowly and gently lay my hand where the peppermint is. Nothing happens. Everything has stayed the same. I was expecting my hand to dissolve into Sue or something like that but no. Nothing happens. I personally think this is weird. I think this because back where I met Jennise all of the trees were encased in a delicious milk chocolate casing and filled with spiders. Not to mention the ground, or the other tree, the one that shattered into lollipop pieces when I put weight on it. So, it doesn’t make sense that this rock, [Sue] isn’t weird too.
Now I wait, because I know; that there must be something weird about Sue. Wait, maybe the weird thing is that there is nothing weird! That could work right…Instead off the rock in itself being weird; the weird thing is that the rock isn’t weird. Yeah! I feel smart! “Woo ho! Whoops, I said that out loud didn’t I… I hope no
one heard me. I shut up now, just in case.  Since I am shutting up now, I congratulate my self silently. A silent applause.
Ow! What was that? I turn around and stare at a cutely wrapped peppermint. Which is sitting where Sue was. What? I run to a tree that has a picture of twizzler carved in it.  I touch it and run to around to all of the other trees.  At the same exact time all of the trees turn into one piece of candy. I stare, for what seems like hours, at hundreds of Reese’s, Snickers, jellybeans, candy canes, lollipops, chocolate kisses, various cookies, M&M’s, Kit Kats, York Peppermints, Babe Ruth’s, Twix bars, Milky ways, Crunch bars, Butterfingers, Paydays, and Almond joys.
Ha! It’s candy. But is it candy, who knows? All that candy might be some sort of trick. I am going to find out. I rush over to a Twix bar [my favorite candy.] I bring my hand down toward the candy and at a snails pace. Finally I reach the bar. Bit by bit, little by little I pick it up and unwrap the sweet smelling candy bar. As quickly as possible I squeeze my eyes shut, afraid of what I might see. Now, I squeeze my eyes open and stare, in satisfaction at a normal Twix. Yum! I gobble the bar down in no time at all. The Snickers bar flavor overwhelms my mouth with a mixture of caramel chocolaty goodness. It feels as if I hadn’t eaten for weeks.

Stay posted,
Nina
