Faint
your hands meet in a sweaty grasp,
as you hold your breath,
and count quite fast,
your face goes red,
and all your friends laugh,
but then a strange thing happens,
the room you were in,
has become black,
you fall into a deadly sleep and then you hear a beep beep beep! 
your alarm clock you think,
it's time to wake up,
but when you open your eyes,
your classmates surround you,
footsteps rush by,
what has happened,
you have, for the first time,
Fainted.

A twig snaps beneath my foot,

a deer prances in the distance, 

a bunny hops into the creek,

another day in spring,

a sprinkler sprays a ray of water,

a bird chirps when it sees it's mother,

an ice cream truck passes,

 another day in summer,

a red leaf falls upon my head,

a new tree house is built,

a garage is cleaned,

another day in autumn,

a family of snowmen,

a christmas tree lit,

snow on the window

another day in winter.

it's itchy scratchy,

long and patchy,

there's something in my hair,

I tried to get it out one day,

but it only made it worse,

Once Upon a Time

This post is about my absolute favorite TV show ever....Once Upon a Time!

Once Upon a Time is a TV show based around common fairytales such as Snow White, Rumpelstiltskin, Belle, Little Red Riding Hood, Robin hood, Tinkerbell and many other characters. Snow White and Prince charming have a child, Emma. But the evil witch is about to cast a curse which will erase all of the people in the enchanted forests memories. Only Emma, the savior, can break it. That is what the storyline starts with but as the show goes on the plot changes. At one point the main characters are trying to get to Neverland, and at another the crew is meeting the wicked witch of the west!

Ms.Marvel Three/ Overview of Ms.Marvel

The third edition of Ms.Marvel has come out! In this issue Kamala starts to realize the amazing power that she has. But the end of this comic ends with a twist…..Ms.Marvel gets shot!!!!

Overview of Ms.Marvel
Kamala is an average teenage Muslim girl who is a fan of Marvel comics. One day Kamala decides to sneak out to a party. At the party, Kamala accidentally sips some alcohol but spits it out. After this incident  a green fog spreads across the town. In the midst of the fog Kamala see's Ms.Marvel, a marvel superhero. Ms.Marvel asks Kamala if she would like to be Ms.Marvel and Kamala says yes, not knowing what she is in for. And Kamala wakes up, as Ms.Marvel.
Kamala starts to realize her powers. She can shape shift or change her image to any other human being and can enlarge her hand.

Disney Princesses

Many of you have probably watched one or more Disney Princess movies. You know, the ones with the unbelievably beautiful princesses who are never lesbian and are always stick thin. For instance, let's look at snow white, the first Disney Princess:

Snow White is the daughter of the King and Queen therefore the princess. She always wakes up with her make up on. She is perfectly thin, has an unrealistic complexion and is beautiful. Snow White was tricked into biting into an apple that made her fall into a sleep that could only be broken by "true loves kiss."And Snow White is the fairest one of all.

And what about Sleeping Beauty?

Sleeping beauty pricked her finger on a magical spindle which made the whole realm as well as herself fall into a deep sleep which can only be broken by "true loves kiss." And guess what?! "Prince Phillip" kisses Aurora! Also like Snow White she always looks perfect and has various form fitting dresses. But I think the worst part of all of these princesses is that they are role models for little girls and boys. And by the way, all of the princesses get married when they are around 16 or 17. Is that when the next generation should get married? Should all of the little girls and boys runaround the streets singing songs about their hopes and dreams and kiss whomever they please? Should they rebel against their parents and run away so they can fall in love with someone they barely even know? I won't promise anything but I'm pretty sure most of the moms and dads of the world don't want their children marrying at 16.

These movies also don't include anything about poverty or losse of jobs. Everyone is perfectly wealthy.

Ferry Sinking in South Korea

I don't know if you guys have heard about the ferry sinking in South Korea or not but it's pretty sad/interesting. On Thursday a ferry headed toward the island of Jeju turned upside down. 462 passengers boarded the vessel, 280 were missing by late that afternoon, and 4 were confirmed dead. Many of the travelers aboard were high school students. One texted his mom, "This might be my last chance to tell you I love you." The cause of the accident is still unknown. Some commuters said they heard a sharp bang when the ship started to tip. The captain of the vessel told some people aboard the ferry not to jump off.

Iowa City Mentioned in Captain America: The Winter Soldier?

Was Iowa City mentioned in Marvel's latest movie, Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier? Yes! It was. Samuel Jackson says something about a High School Valedictorian in Iowa City being one of the main "targets."  [I won't explain that entirely because I don't want to spoil the movie for you.] While I was sitting in the movie theater in Coralville, Iowa as Jackson said, "Iowa City" everyone in the theater started to say things like, "What?!" "Wait..." "No-" "or "Really?" Things like this are a surprise to us Iowans because Iowa City isn't a hugely popular town. And, it surprised us that in a big Hollywood movie like Captain America 2, they would mention our little town.

Ms. Marvel #2

Ms. Marvel comics has published it's second issue! This book starts of were Kamala has just found out about her powers. I hope you stay oriented with these comics. They're very exciting! Though each issue ends on a cliffhanger, I recommend Ms. Marvel 2!
